Welcome to Troop #183

We are a non-profit organization whose main objective is to have fun with our four-legged companions through various activities while at the same time educating the human end of the leash on positive training methods and responsible dog ownership. Pets and owners work as a team to earn badges similar to human Scouting. There is no end to the badges you can earn, but here are just some: manners, first aid, kayaking, hiking, flyball, community service, camping, travel, therapy dog, and clean up America.

But there is a serious side to Dog Scouts. Our mission is to keep dogs in forever homes by educating the human in training methods to keep dogs mannerly and therefore welcome in homes and in public. The Dog Scout motto is, Let us learn new things that we may become more helpful. The Dog Scout owner's motto is Our dog's lives are much shorter than ours- let's help them enjoy their time with us as much as we can.
